About Mint Leaf Podi
A shelf-stable version of the mint chutney nobody has time to grind on a weekday. Roasted mint leaf, roasted lentils and chilli, ground dry so it keeps for months rather than days.
Refreshing rather than hot, and easier on digestion than most podis in this range.
Add a few drops of water and it becomes a thick raw chutney. That is not a workaround — it is the intended second use.
Ingredients
Everything that goes in, and nothing that does not. No preservatives, no chemicals, no added colour.
- Dried mint (pudina) leaves
- Bengal gram (chenna dal)
- Toor dal
- Dried red chilli
- Salt
Ground in a facility that also handles wheat, groundnut, sesame and tree nuts.
How to use
Mix with a generous pour of gingelly oil, sesame oil or ghee and serve alongside warm idli, dosa or uttapam.
Stir into piping hot rice with a little ghee for a quick mint rice.
Use as a dry side for curd rice, or mix it straight in.
Instant chutney: add a few drops of water or extra oil and work it into a thick paste.
